Q1: What does the R mean in battery group size?
Al:In both types the L (if any) indicates that the battery has a left pole orientation (see below for more details) while the R indicates a right pole orientation based on the negative pole. If you can not find your battery type, just measure it with a meter and note all 3 dimensions.
Q2: How do I know what group size battery I need?
A2: Check the Owner's Manual: The battery section of your car's manual will list the recommended BCI Group Size and minimum CCA.
Q3: Can I put a different group size battery in my car?
A3: If you use the wrong size battery, this could cause changes in the flow of electrical currents, resulting in power surges that can damage the onboard computers or other components.
Q4: How do I check my battery size?
A4: While you could grab a ruler and attempt to measure the exact width and height of your current car battery, pop the hood and simply look for "Group Size" printed on the label of the battery or check your owner's manual.
Q5: What voltage should a car battery have?
A5: A healthy, fully charged car battery should read 12.6V or higher when the engine is off. When the engine is running, voltage should read 13.7V–14.7V, this means your alternator is charging the battery correctly. If it's outside this range, have your charging system checked.
Q6: How do I read a battery size chart? (Group sizes explained)
A6: Battery group sizes are standardized codes (like Group 47, 48, 49...) set by the Battery Council International (BCI). They tell you the battery's physical dimensions, terminal placement, and type, so you know it'll fit your vehicle's battery tray and connect properly. Q7: What are the signs of a dead or failing car battery?

If you are like one of the many people that suffered dying batteries or a deep sleep message in your FordPass app, this is a great solution. My dealer gaslit me and refused to replace the factory battery, which would ust been kicking the can anyway as he shipped with flooded lead acid batteries, instead of AGM. Of course they make the battery sizing and naming a huge pain to try to navigate, the factory battery is labeled with what appears to be a European standard size. Thanks to people on the Maverick truck club, other people have purchased and tested this and reported good results. Installing of course is a huge pain in the butt, but that fault not the battery manufacturer. I have high hopes for this based off of others reports that have been using them for six months to a year already. Current rating is based off of the well packaged shipment, and compatibility specific to the Ford maverick hybrid. Please see the attached pictures for any worries about sizing or fitment, I have included both OEM pictures with a tape measure as well as a replacement, and a picture of the battery installed. It fit perfectly with no issues.

Exact same size as the flooded battery that came with my hybrid but this is an AGM. Did an overnight charge on it before replacing the existing battery. Kept getting deep sleep messages in the original battery and for $140 this is more powerful. The Maverick charging system destroys batteries so no telling how it will hold up but for this price and this capacity I won’t lose any sleep if it only last 3 years.

This fits the 2017 Bolt EV perfectly and at a reasonable price, installed it and was back up and on the road again. I was especially happy because my Bolt has been down almost 2 weeks due to the 12v battery going out and another seller shipping the incorrect battery that also said it would fit the car (their listing and Amazon), exact same part number and terminals on the wrong sides. Be careful where you order car batteries from on Amazon, and go with sellers that are very clear on their listings and have proper return policies and closely pay attention to their reviews, this seller seems reputable and would do business again with.

The battery itself is of high quality and was well packaged for shipment, but the accompanying manual leaves something to be desired. Though it contains copious technical data, it was obviously written by a non-native, and the result is that some important areas are unclear. Also, a small, unidentifed plastic part was included in a plastic bag attached to the battery, with no indication either in the manual or with the part itself as to its purpose or installation. Contacting the seller was necessary to find out.

It was a pleasant surprise to see that this battery was a perfect fit to the 2017 Prius compartment. While the battery was delivered laying on it's size and the enclosed description stated that it should not be tipped more than 40 degrees there was no leakage evident from the battery. While it weighed in at approximately 30 pounds replacement of the installed battery was quick and efficient for a DIY customer. As far as the expected life is concerned I can't comment on that because it is still basically a new battery.
