Works in a 2017 Prius Prime

So far, so good. When the stock battery met it's inevitable end-of-life this was my replacment. Been working fine now for 4 months; will update as necessary.

FAQS
Q1: What does the R mean in battery group size?
Al:In both types the L (if any) indicates that the battery has a left pole orientation (see below for more details) while the R indicates a right pole orientation based on the negative pole. If you can not find your battery type, just measure it with a meter and note all 3 dimensions.
Q2: How do I know what group size battery I need?
A2: Check the Owner's Manual: The battery section of your car's manual will list the recommended BCI Group Size and minimum CCA.
Q3: Can I put a different group size battery in my car?
A3: If you use the wrong size battery, this could cause changes in the flow of electrical currents, resulting in power surges that can damage the onboard computers or other components.
Q4: How do I check my battery size?
A4: While you could grab a ruler and attempt to measure the exact width and height of your current car battery, pop the hood and simply look for "Group Size" printed on the label of the battery or check your owner's manual.
Q5: What voltage should a car battery have?
A5: A healthy, fully charged car battery should read 12.6V or higher when the engine is off. When the engine is running, voltage should read 13.7V–14.7V, this means your alternator is charging the battery correctly. If it's outside this range, have your charging system checked.
Q6: How do I read a battery size chart? (Group sizes explained)
A6: Battery group sizes are standardized codes (like Group 47, 48, 49...) set by the Battery Council International (BCI). They tell you the battery's physical dimensions, terminal placement, and type, so you know it'll fit your vehicle's battery tray and connect properly. Key specs to look for on a size chart: 1) Group BCI: determines physical fit (length × width × height) 2) CCA (Cold Cranking Amps): how well the battery starts in cold weather 3) RC (Reserve Capacity): how long the battery can run accessories if the alternator fails 4) Ah (Amp Hours): total energy storage capacity 5) Terminal position: top post vs. side post, and which side is positive
Q7: What are the signs of a dead or failing car battery?
A7: Watch out for these warning signs: 1) Engine cranks slowly or won't start. 2) Clicking noise when turning the key, battery doesn't have enough power to engage the starter. 3) Dim headlights or interior lights, especially when idling. 4) Electrical accessories acting up, power windows, radio, or AC behaving oddly. 5) Battery warning light on dashboard, indicates a charging issue. 6) Swollen or bloated battery case, caused by excessive heat. 7) Rotten egg smell (sulfur), sign of a leaking or overcharging battery. 8) Frequent need for jump starts, battery can no longer hold a charge.
Q8: What is CCA and why does it matter?
A8: CCA stands for Cold Cranking Amps: it measures how much current a battery can deliver for 30 seconds at 0°F (-18°C) while maintaining at least 7.2 volts. In plain terms: it's how well your battery can start the engine in cold weather. A higher CCA means more reliable cold-weather starts.
